UNUSUALL SITUATION

Hope everyone had a great christmas! we sure did. we went home to Beaverlodge to spend the holidays with family. the weather was VERY cold.....minus 33 plus wind chill on top of that. it turned out to be a blessing though, as it forced us to stay closre to home and catch up on much needed rest.

tomorrow is new years eve and we are looking forward to celebrating with many friends at the ladies hockey team celebration!!!

so what is so unusual????? well my husband got me a notebook (small laptop) for christmas and i have just taken the time to set it up and use it!!!!!!!!!! and believe it or not....this none computer savey, cautious lover of technology, is loving it!!! Plus it has this really cute mouse that he bought me too.........it really IS the SMALL things that get me excited!!
also enjoying my purchase of a pocket message recorder.......it stores 99 messages and up to 12 min....as for anyone who knows me, my memory is terrible! but that is all going to change...as long as i can remember to bring the recorder with me!!! HA AAH AH A

WELL ROUNDED...NOT JUST MY WAIST

Our life as of late has been very full and well rounded with a variety of activities.
things are now strating to end, as is this year.
our daughter is finished with her school volleyball team. they did very well, making it to zones held in three hills last weekend.
her monday night basketball with "jet athletics" ended on monday. what a great organization that deb and pat fule put on. thanks for that.
all three of our children were casted in the play "life with father". after months of rehersal, and 6 wonderful performances, this chapter in our lives now ends too, with the "striking" of the stage today. Thanks to all who made it out to watch. we are very proud of our little actors for the bravery to do this, as well as how well they did at it. it was a huge commitment on their part, and like i said we are very proud of them.
hockey of course will keep us busy right up until the time we leave to go home to visit family and celebrate Christmas. Liams team now has a full roster, as all boys with injuries seem to be healed.

we look forward to two Christmas performances with the school, to our daughters "winter formal"...(which dress shopping went down with great success), and hopefully some seasonal cheer with friends.

thanks to julia and trent for the party.........sorry we couldn't stay longer. and happy birhtday!!

we also look forward to meeting the next great people who will rent our house from us. please help in spreading the news that there is a house in need of a family to turn it into a home.

TOO BUSY TO BREATH............

OK not really......i am still breathing.........but my pulse IS up!
i know everyone is busy, and we are as busy as we make ourselves...........

so it is my reason as to why i have not blogged in a while, why i missed hockey last sunday, why i have not been able to get to the gym 3 times the last 2 weeks........and to why the dust bunnies are becoming dust deers, and the laundry pile rivals mount everest!!!

why do they call those donuts long johns? Alec was wondering what a john was- as in long john. If that doesn't make sense why do we call long underwear long johns? Do you know???????????Julia

i have yet to find the true origin of why we call things "JOHN" weather it be long or not. consider all the things we refer to as "John"............
1. long john donuts
2. long john underwear
3. a man soliciting a woman for sex...JOHN
4. the washroom........."going to the john"
5. a dead unknown man......."JOHN"
6. remember a few years ago when the popular shirts had suggestive meanings about the penis...they were called "JOHNSON"

as far as i can tell, because anything i ask google or ask.com to find, comes up Long John Silver...a fictional character from the book "treasure island"........remade many times as a movie..and also a franchise seafood resturant, i think he is the inspiration. I have never read the book...(Oh God! do i try another classic?)......but perhaps the answer lies in there.

so in summary, my opinion is this: the long john is, of course long.........john because we apparently add that to anything we don't have a real name for.
i also found this other blog , and added it..........because if nothing else i find it amusing that other people have wondered the same thing!

My boyfriend and I are debating whether or not a long john (bismark) is a doughnut.
I say it is. It is made from the same type of dough and cooked essentially the same way, it just happens to be served in an oblong shape and not a circular one.
He says a long john is not a doughout because of its oblong shape. He says it should have a seperate classification, the Long John. According to him a doughnut, by definition, is formed in the shape of a circle. He also argues that you order a bavarian cream doughnut or a chocolate doughnut but you would not order a long john doughnut. In other words the word "doughnut" often does not follow the words "long john". He also says that a long john is more of an eclair type pastry. However, at the local grocerie store if you bought a long john and a baverian cream doughnut they would both cost the same price. If you bought an eclair and a bavarian cream doughnut the eclair would cost a dollar some as opposed to 45 cents (the price of a DOUGHNUT).
I feel that his argument has no validity to it because, as we all know, the origanal doughnut was not circular but was formed to make a rope. Also, a doughnut is defined as 'deep-fried piece of dough or batter', it's shape and size are not specified. The fact that doughnuts are commonly circular does not mean the long john is not a doughnut.

Although I can see where you are coming from, I'd have to take your boyfriend's side simply because when someone mentions a 'doughnut' you (that is, 'I') automatically think of the round things because that is generally what it applies to.
Even the term 'doughnut' when applied to a geometric shape refers to a ring or toroid.
The shape IS specified in many definitions, and the ring is certainly the most common:

That link does, however, say that doughnuts (the food) can be other shapes. Maybe you can agree to both be right? ;-)

What on earth are long johns? The only long johns I know about are thermal underwear!!! And I've never heard of Bavarian cream doughnuts either. American doughnuts have a hole in the middle and proper doughnuts don't have a hole and have jam in the middle!!!!

Hi in the US I used to buy a mixed box of doughnuts with 24 in,, on the side of the box it said,4 iced round doughnut,s 4 cinnamon twist doughnuts,4 round jelly doughnuts, 4 round lemon glaze doughnuts,4 rectangle apple filled doughnuts and 4 longjohn doughnuts.I have recipes for longjohns in a dougnut section of a cookery book,As far as I , my cookery books and the US shops they are doughnuts. feeling off track..........
cannot keep up with the house work (what is new?)
one mother+ one father + three kids= two extemely outnumbered parents
loosing focus on my "lifestyle changes".....not working out enough and definatly not watching the food intake......NEED TO GET THAT BACK AS A PRIORITY!!!!!!!

on an upbeat note............i did get the "blow up " santa, penguin, and snowman snow globe up, as well as one string of lights on my veranda and the wreaths and bows up!!!
i have started christmas shopping...........and mailed my nieces birthday gift for her birthday wednesday....
i rearranged the furniture in my house......AGAIN!!!
almost caught up on laundry
actually washed my kitchen and living room floor for the first time in at least 2 weeks (no i am not kidding)
got tickets to the very anticipated movie "TWILIGHT" for friday!
and the best part of my day...........a client let me do highlites in her hair today!!! FUN FUN!!

IT'S A WONDER......

may things are a wonder to me.
it is a wonder that my husband can live with me. my moods are speratic and polar........especially two days before my period.
it is a wonder that people had to find things to entertain themselves with in the olden days..where would they ever find time to be bored?
it is a wonder how the person discovered coconut...think about it.
it is a wonder that so many things can happen in a day
it is a wonder how lucky i am to have a husband that likes to cook. tonight he isn't here and the kids and i ate cereal......even though the only milk we have a the moment is chocolate.
it is a wonder to me how the phone works........and how you can move to a different house and keep the same phone number
it is a wonder to me the kids who seem to know what they want to do from an early age.

i regularly wonder what the meaning of it all is. i think i try to hard to figure it out. then wonder why.
i wonder what they do with all the amputated limbs and other removed body parts from patients. do they all end up as bio waste or are some kept for "specimens?"can you ask to take yours home? i envision it in a jar. i would put mine on display.

DE JA VOUS!

This weekend was full of DE JA VOUS!
first Halloween! it has become a fun tradition to have our friends come in to our home and trick or treat around our neighbourhood. so of course that is what we did. it is a funny thing how tradition of a yearly event came make time seem to fly so fast.

Saturday....hockey of course....DE JA VOUS because i was back in standard like last Saturday, but with a different son.....were we lost...just like the other son did the week before!

Sunday....hockey of course....where Liam fell and hurt himself enough that the ambulance had to get him off the ice...DE JA VOUS why??? just 4 short months age he was strapped to the same backboard and shipped to the same hospital where he had the exact same x-rays, where the same nurses were working.......
he is stiff and sore, unable to put full weight on his leg, but nothing broken!

Sunday.......womans hockey started! DE JA VOUS of good tiomes!!!

PONDER THIS........

update....all properties are rented....and i owe no one a finders fee.....except me!!!

tried again to go ziplining....first time we were late so COP people wouln't let us go. Sunday we were all early, and then the COP closed the zipline due to wind speeds!
apparently the universe dosen't want me to go ziplining. well that suits me fine as once i realized it was off the top highest ski jump i was a bit scared!!

points to ponder brought up by different clients last week....
1. value village..........one client says she wears nothing but designer and brand names bought from here. i figure i will give it a try. anyone know a good location??

2. a client asked me if i thought having 3 cocktails a day while preparing/eating supper was excessive? to be honest i don't know. i am not one to have a drink with dinner nightly, nor do i have "nite caps"........BUT i did have dinner with friends out on sunday and i had two ceasers...i didn't feel drunk......would three put me over some acceptable edge???

what and how much makes us a possible alcholoic? i told her until you are hiding liquor bottles, you should be fine.

and i may have an unhealty addiction myself......i, after teasing my husbands best friend, am now addicted to playing games on my sons webkinz account. you get "paid" for playing and i am now stuck in that trap of not only wanting to beat my high score, but want to get more money!!!...you know to buy virtual crap!!!
to bad real life wasn't like that!!!

A BREIF UPDATE

so the "SAXX" underware arrived today.........so here is a "BRIEF"ing of the BRIEFS....oh sometimes i kill myself!!!!!

any-whoo...........i bought two kinds....both boxer brief style,...one in cotton/spandex blend...one in bamboo...........I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THE BAMBOO!!! very, very soft

The take it or leave it section of the recycle area in town is closed........hopefully just temporarily.
spent some time in the emeg at the hospital today.
my youngest son has strep throat.
think i overheard the lady in the next curtain getting read her last rights? a native man with a priest collar was praying to her.
my laundry piles are slowly getting smaller.
my ironing pile is increasing at an alarming rate.
my floor is filthy......again.
i watched Indiana Jones movie...the new one...today with my sick son. I think they can STOP making them now.
i ate too much junk today.
my trainer says i need to work out 6 days a week.
probably seven after today's binge breakdown.
bought some newborn "one-sies"...forgot how small babies are.
found a couple neat pictures at value village yesterday.
need new tires on my truck. ordered them last week. forgot repeatedly today to call and see if they were in.
twice today at two different locations, paid for my stuff in quarters.
watched the entire oilers vs flames game tonight...and my husband wasn't even home!
oilers won 3-2.
thinking the smell of the town water is almost, but not quite gone.
am relieved that my sister was making jokes today about the surprise baby.
hoping i won the 649 lottery tonight!
going to bed....may be going to an early hockey game...see how my sick boy feels in the morning.

ODE TO A HEMOPHILIAC...

Ever have one of those days where you feel silly and giddy.........you start out on something, a conversation, and it just takes a life of it's own. that is the day my friend/co-worker and i had yesterday! we laughed for over 3 hours about blood clots!!! WHILE SPEAKING IN AN ENGLISH ACCENT TO ADD?? TO IT!!

we started out pretending we were English vampires at a bar ordering drinks......"I'll have a clot on the rocks and a bloody Mary please!"
by the end we were quoting Shakespeare adding in the word clot!
so here is the ODE TO A HEMOPHILIAC.........

WELL, I have really over 3 hours of material...........like the vampires party mix CD...featuring hits such as "BRIDGE OVER BLOODY WATERS"....and "1-2-3-o'clock 4 o'clock clot"

you may be wondering "what the hell"...............but it is still making me laugh so hard right now .


in other bloody news.............nothing...i have bled out!!!

WEEKEND.........

Well... it is friday. my day off..........lets clarify....my day off of my paid place of employment. today i had the house to clean......man! it was gross!! i choose dark floors and counters in the new house..........obviously had no forsight into reality when i did this! EVERY...AND I MEAN EVERY crumb, dustbunny, and footprint is clearly visable, and due to our schedules i haven't taken the time to vaccuum or wash the floor in 2 weeks! NOT KIDDING!!! my feet looked like i had walked outside barefoot in the dirt pile before i got it washed today!!!
then there was the numerous odd jobs that needed to be done..........got most of them off the list. i just dropped one kid at a birthday, one is still at a playdate, and the oldest is in the shower?? why is unknown!! now as my husband / cook will not be home for diiner i have to cook. HELLO M&M MEATS food store. it is only my second time shopping there, but we choose the won-ton soup...................then i got home and read the back...990gm of sodium!!!!!low fat and sugar though! eating healthy is a full time job.

another busy weekend is upon us! tomorrow our daughter is in an all day volleyball tournament, and i have girls group! looking forward to both! girls group is a wine and cheese tasting mixed with a full size pictonary game. i LOVE games.........and pictonary just happens to be my favorite!
sunday, so far the only thing going on is delivering flyers and going to the gym.

so i have said often that i would enjoy writing an advice coloum for our local little paper......i ALMOST got the nerve to ask if they are looking for somthing like that today when i was there placing an ad. (the ad was for a large detatched garage for rent in downtown strathmore if anyone is interested. winter is coming and it would make an excellent place to store summer stuff, or park a vehicle to avoid witner snow brushing off!! we can negotiate the price for the right vender)

anyway...........it's not like i think i have the answer to lifes problems, or possess a PHD.....i just think i have a smart ass remark to any and all of lifes situations..............

BEING SICK AND KEEPING FIT...ON OXI-MORON??

well i have a head cold. full sinus, plugged, then runny nose, headache behind the eyes and inbetween them.
BUT I AM TELLING MYSELF I AM FINE!!!
left work early and intended to just lay down for 10 min.....fell asleep! (oops)

but here is the real kicker.........i am on a "get healthy journey"
as of tomorrow i have been going to the gym for 2 months. i have never skipped a planned nite, and added an extra night just this past weekend on the advice of my trainer. i am a mental case, and am scared that if i miss a night due to head cold i will find other and numerous excuses to never go back.

so last night i went to yoga.....2 hours of yoga.........5 friends, my mat, my own box of kleenex, and me!..........brings a whole new meaning to "DOWNWARD DOG" WHEN YOUR NOSE IS RUNNY! GROSS!!!!!!

tonight Jason and I went to the gym.( i am slowly weaning off my trainer, basically due to financial reasons, and long term life style changes (thats my trainer's words)), so jason and i did my routine. we worked out hard..........and i could feel my throat getting sorer by the minute!

my point being this...........DON'T YOU FIND IT IRONIC THAT AS I TRY TO WORK HARD TO GET MY BODY HEALTHY, MY BODY SEEMS TO BE WORKING HARD SPREADING THE SICKNESS FROM MY HEAD TO MY THROAT!!!!!

in case you were wondering, measure day last week at the gym was another sucess. not as large as the previous one, but i am told that too is normal. i lost another 1.5 inces off my belly, for a total of 3.5 off just my belly. think i have lost a total of 12 inches over the entire body.

yes, dispite, if am being honest, i would like overnight drastic results, i am proud of myself.

SAVING AT LEAST $100

school pictures never even used to be a thought at our house. it was a givin that we would always buy them.........until this year. i realized during spring cleaning a couple of weeks ago that LAST YEARS school pictures are still in the original envelope, never making it into a frame for our home, let alone getting into cards and sending to relatives..........who most likely just put them into the garbage after a token stay on the fridge.

SO.........this year i am rebelling! no i am not a great photograher......i do not own a great camera, but thanks to a gift from my husband, i do own a digital camera now. i took the kids down to kinsmen park today..........fall being my favorite season, the leaves there made a beautiful background, and in litterally 7-10 min i had captured moments worthy of replacing school pictures!

well i think i will start with girls group as i can chalk it up to a new thing i have tried and repeat to all, that at many times my life resembles a sienfeld episode.

First we went to COP to zipline, but ended up riding the zorbe ball!! FUN!! the entire ride is only about 30 seconds...........but 30 seconds jammed pact with greatness!!!

off then we were to kinsington to look at the neat shops and try a new chinese resturant.

oh where to begin?? all waitresses were chinese.........no really chinese you know small steps, fast walking, abrupt head nods, smiles as they don't fully inderstand what you are saying anyway....and because they think we are funny little white people who order too many dishes....

3 times i asked this one waitress for something........well tried to ask for something, but she kept walking away mid breath. then they served us cans of pop, which is great as you don't feel ripped off by the whole fountain pop thing. but the funny part is they all stood in a line watching us eat, and at the first chance they would scurry by to lift our cans to refill our glasses......mine inparticular about 3 times in 1 minute.......apparently i don't drink fast enough, and i'm starting to think their wages are the bottle return money.

funniest thing was when Twink said she would take the left overs and told one girl that she "could just put it all in one bucket". This was the funniest thing this little chinese girl ever heard. with a little chuckle she said "in one bucket"...laughed...and repeated it a couple of times! they really do think we are odd little white people.........and apparently we order too much dishes....and need "SLOP BUCKETS"

Twink, a.k.a. the poperatsy, of course had her camera with her, and thought it may be fun for me to have my picture taken with the walking away waitress. the waitress gave me a big hug, and our moment was capptures forever! in other "news".................i went to the gym tonight........thursday is workout #20 so it is measurment day. i think that i have lost more inches..........not 10 like the first time but some. feeling great! leg pressing 115 lbs.............my trainer says that is impressive.........i honestly wouldn't know if that is true or if he was kidding. i do know it is heavy!

all in all a pretty good last few days. looking forward to friday, where i get to spend the day with my husband............and to the last weekend before hockey gets in to full gear!!!

i am hoping to say good-bye to the blue wall in my house!

UNSURE

I have had a few people comment on how i have not updated the "blog". well at least i know i have readers..........NOT SO MANY COMMENTERS....i guess.

was shocked myself , to see the last date of the last post. the reason there has been a large gap is that i have been "UNSURE". I am a person who talks openly and honestly about my life. Perhaps i should be more private, but i think getting it out helps to get rid of it too. having said that i still feel "UNSURE" as to how to continue on. do i mention it, or skip it. the topic, for the most part taboo.
so i have decided to menton it. My mother passed away on August 21, 2008 from a heart attack related to the complications due to diabetes. She had been in the hospital for 6 months following a partial leg amputation, right leg just above the knee, again a result of comlpications of diabetes. She was 53 years old.

although death is a sure thing........how we deal with it, how it effects us, how it will change us...is "UNSURE"

weekend update with Kevin Nealand..........just kidding. kevin is still under contract with Saturday night live.........it seems my "one time" appearance fee wasn't enough to make him break the contract.

"the" garden party of saturday night was a success. great food, good company........many many strings of lights! which is excellent to see each other in the dark! excellent weather! all in all good times.

feeling extremely exhausted the last two days. especially today!

picked up school supplies from the value drug mart...........if anyone wants to help sort this weekend or deliver monday....don't be shy about volunteering!

workout #7 tomorrow! being so tired makes that seem really scary! overall going well. i feel better.........

funny thing 1. we were talking about dentists. how to find a good one. the other girl said "my mom needs a small handed dentist. she has a small mouth!" that made me laugh! can you imagine that conversation at the initial consult appointment? "and can i see your hands? now try and fit them into my mouth...........no you just won't do.....you don't fit!" how many child prodigies are dentists anyway??

sears christmas wish book is out! this is not funny, but makes me ponder as to why they need to do it so early??? but since it is i would like the body of the model on page 147 please. yes i have been a good girl this year Santa.

have any of you seen the youtube of the weight lifter whos elbow dislocated? so gross you have to watch!

I FORGOT TO SAY....

another funny thing that happened saturday in calgary.....
a homeless man was walking to car windows while we were stopped at a stop light, he was holding a cardboard sign that said "TOO UGLY TO PROSTITUTE, AND TOO DUMB TO STEAL".............made me laugh enough to give him my whole cup of spare change i had in my truck!

MOMENTARY LAPSE OF JUDGEMENT

our kids deliver flyers for our neighbourhood. last week a notice came out that there was some other routes needing carriers...........we thought it might be a great way to save for a family vacation. we offered to do all the routes this weekend to "try it out". 12 routes.........1140 flyers!
that works out to 2.5 hours of three people rolling the flyers, one bagging the flyers, and one cooking supper, then helping roll. also equals one blister on my thumb from repetative elastic twists, and a damages pointer cuticle with added hangnail from all the papers.
it then worked out to 7 hours of delivering flyers to many different neighbourhoods in strathmore!
yes we did get our quota of exercise this weekend...........but really is it worth it?? NO!

in other news this weekend, jason and i spent the night at the Kinsington in, a late celebration for our anniversary. the room was nice, but the hotel was hosting it's first wedding. don't think they will do another one.
the highlight for us, as our window looked onto the terrace where all the festivities were going on, was when a fist fight broke out amongst the modest 40 guest wedding celebration!!

all in all a weekend to give us something to talk about!

CHANGES

well it has hit home so to speak. there is diabetes in my immediate family, my mom, and she got it in her thirties. i am in my thirties. she was very overweight, i am overweight. she is experiencing complications due to diabetes, extreme life changing consequences that i want to avoid. she is only 53. i am 35.

i hired a personal trainer, at first i wanted to keep it a secret, in case i fail. failure is not an option.
day one today............I WANT TO KILL THE TRAINER!
i fell flat on my face during the shuffling of the medicine ball, we had a laugh together. can only imagine what the fat looked like giggling down to the ground! as i refuse to look in the mirror while i "work out".
after the 45 min session, that seemed like 3 days, i felt "tired but good".............then we sat down to talk about nutrition. i am now afraid to eat!
worse than that i had the "one eye drunk stare" while he was talking due to dizziness setting in from my body screaming at me "what the hell was that for?"........... then i got clammy...he had to check my pulse. and just before leaving i had the "watering" of the jowls....yes the feeling of puking.............i held it down. falling and emergency pulse check was enough embarrassment for one day!
when i got home i somehow managed to get onto my bed, (a feat if you have ever seen my king size bed that stands up to my hips), and rest off the sicking feeling. it is almost 3 hours after my workout and i still feel the "woozy" effects!
my worst fear is i am back Wednesday morning. 7:30 am. i work right after. hope i can compose myself enough to not puke on my client!
GOD! i knew i was out of shape.............but this is disgusting!

will keep you posted. i refuse to know my weight..........the "number" is too much of a mind game for me. i will concentrate on how my body feels and percentage of body fat.
starting percentage of body fat.............almost too embarassed to say, but my life is preety much an open book, and does it chage the way i look to give it a number? NO!
33.3% body fat.
that made my wonder............can a person be 50% or more body fat? I'll have to ask.

first short term goal, besides living through the workout, is to be able to wear my wedding rings again. my didgets are too big to fit right now.

on another topic.........i am happy to say that i have the forth book to our vampire series "breaking dawn"..........and am still in love with Edward!

*end to the blonde hair.........stacey helped my apply a semi-permanent brown color all over. considering saying good-bye to the length, and hello to a sassy short style..........

*approaching the end of july which will bring our 15th wedding anniversary and my sons 10th birthday. a nice ending to the month i would say.

*my short work week has ended. had many laughs working in the spa with michelle. have i mentioned i love my job? had some big tippers this week so that was fun!

*would like to "END" this drout of lack of visiting with freinds..........it seems like forever since i have spent time with my friends.............

CATCHING UP

well time flies.........what a few days! where to begin!?
well i am no longer blonde........or more accurately white with shades of orange with an intentional "highlite" piece of black RANDOMLY placed in the "bang".........NOT SO SABER.
my friend scrapbook stacy, said my hair resembled a character from "silence of the lambs"....no not Clarice.............the creepy kidnapping guy making himself a human skin suit! NICE!! (see picture at the top)

now my head is playing host to a mirage of colors, but at least i am not looking so creepy!

started my colonic treatments........my body doesn't look like the last posted picture either, it too resembles a character from "silence of the lambs".......again not Clarice....but the "chubby" girl the freak kidnapped............i like to keep my looks within ONE scene of a movie! not sure what to say about these treatments........shall keep you posted.

had a LARGE scare this week with a phone call from my neighbour while I was in the city having left the kids at home. long story short,i almost experienced a heart attack, Liam experienced being placed firmly on a backboard and an ambulance ride, 10 x-rays, and a spinal response test, my daughter and good friend banlges stacey also got to experience an ambulance ride, and in the end we are all fine!!!
thanks to all the first responders of Strathmore, Dr McNeeley, and all hospital staff.

tomorrow my husband and i are subjecting ourselves to having our pictures done. i am not a fan of seeing myself in pictures, a self-esteem thing i guess, but to me an avoidance of looking at the ROLLS!!...........anyway, it is our 15th anniversary at the end of the month and we have not had our pictures alone since our wedding. we shall see. i will post them when i get the disc from the photographer.




oh and i guess i could share the story where i put my foot so deep in my mouth i brused my uvula........................
through facebook i found out that one of my old highschool friends is getting married this summer for the THIRD time! (we are 35 years old).....so since my client this week was being the bridesmaid for the second time..........i thought i would share that info about my friend. adding to it that i don't understand why one would get married 3 times! how about just date till you break up saving the wedding money and the divorce fees.

she then said......(wait for it....) "I am the third wife of my husband"

OF COURSE SHE IS!!! KIND OF LIKE IT WAS THE DOG OF THE MAN THAT STOPPED TO HELP ME, THAT I RAN OVER AND KILLED!

A RANDOM QUESTION

I was wondering what you all did when you found yourself with nothing to do.
i had a strange feeling today. i finished the laundry and the ironing yeaterday. went with Jason and did the grocery shopping, had cleaned the bathrooms for sundays dinner guests, and finished the last book in my series. i had nothing to do and it made me feel uncomfortable.

what do you guys do?? i felt like i needed to find something to do. i tried to find a book to read, checked to see if i felt like repainting my wall.....bad timing...too close to dinner and the wall i want to paint(again for the 4th time) is in the kitchen, i tried my hand at guitar hero until liam wanted to go shopping for a bike. and here i am again, having cleaned off the table after dinner with nothing to do...........an anxiuos feeling i have. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME???????

really, if you want to make 2 lists:......1) what to do when you have nothing to do, 2) things that are wrong with tanya..............see that will give me something to do....fix all the wrongs!

SUMMER DAY 1

well it is offically the first day the kids have had off from school. luckally i have the day off too. i worry about them being alone as the sibling fights get started early. i have had to intervene twice already and it is just after noon! i need to work on a list of things for them to do.........both in the chore department and fun department. summer is stress for any family where both parents have to work. hopefully i won the lottery....should check my numbers.

the kids have been working on a fort in the small cluster of trees not too far from our house. they took us for a tour on the weekend. reminds me of the "houses" i had in my grandparents bushes when i was their age. they even made a name and found a piece of drywall in the garbage bin by an in-progress house to paint the name on. they had a lot of thought in their name....as 5 boys have been working on it.. Ethan, Liam, Daniel, Jordan, and Drew....they decided to call their fort "LEDJE" (peonounced ledge)..........using the first lettrs of their names. was proud of them for that.

the last day of june.............WOW what a wet one it was.......my highschool friend, Kim, birthday is today! hoepfully i remember to call her!

another hot day today.......i would love to just sit, read and lay around.......why is it we have a hard time doing that when we are at home?? chores.......a single word to sum it up........but cannot we have a few days to just be??? i think i will just be and do anything i want today.......after i do the ironing and make the spred sheet of chores for the kids!!!

other than that my random thoughts have yet to show up today! we had a nice dinner party with jasons best freind Jamie and his fiance Robyn yesterday! their wedding is in 26 days! guess i need an outfit..........(are you ready for another shopping day stacey??)

A SABER WEEK IN RANDOM REVIEW

well, where has this week gone?? so fast. really the kids are done school today, but since mine choose not to go for the last day, which was just 2 hours, i guess their last day was yesterday.

Monday, another busy day at work, then off to the parents vs kids baseball game. SO FUN! i tired most positions....outfield, pitcher....which might be more approperatly named "target practice" for me as i seemed to aim for the kids alot!, backcatching.....which is way too much work, then back to outfield........as really, lets be honest, how many 9 & 10 year olds can hit it into the "outfield"??? which left me ample time to chit chat with the fellow mother outfielders!
what i learnt at work today......allergies to wheat can cause constipation and bloating.....could i have this??

Tuesday.........a day filled with many different activities.....droped Freda Ford off at the mechanics, had stacey pick me up, had yet another full day at work, then home to get ready for Ethan's spring concert. i may be a little grouchy about this and tend to over react, but after all, this is about venting randomly,....................what is with haveing 2 concerts to go to in a year? isn't christmas enough?? and why do we have to pay to get in to see our kids show us what they learn at school.........where we already pay taxes so the government can build the schools, and pay the teachers, and also where we already pay school fees??? i think that we should be able to enter for free since we are forced to endure the painfull act of being the supportive parent and watch the "play". ......(that was not so saber!)

wednesday..........more approperatly "WACKY WEDNESDAY".........BROUGHT TO US BY THE LETTER "W"............we wore white while working..........brought food that starts with "W"..it made our brains think! we had the following "W" foods:

7. watermelon

9. weiners
missing from our buffet was waffles, wine, wiskey, and western sushi with wasabi.

thursday..........let me just say that we are ALL glad that thursday is over!!! i was the acting receptionist............heavy on the acting,........which should be proceeded by the word "BAD"....
i hate hate hate being the receptionist! and i think the stylists hate hate hate having me as the receptionist!! let me just say "thank-you" to our receptionists.........and let it be known next international receptionist day you will be recieving a gift from me!
highlites to yesterday..........mimi had a walk in hottie that made her stutter for the rest of the day over the fact he could say her real name, and is from a family of 7 boys!! and martin bones was in................................................................................................(sigh) plus i got to style one head of hair.

sobies also opened today! i makes me excited.........which makes my sexy chef of a husband confused...............i just said " what ever makes you happy makes me happy!" really he has a point....i don't cook so why should it make me excited??? i guess for the same reason my kids like the new store..........it is also a limilted supply pet store.........they have crab or lobster at the moment. we are eagerly waiting the arrival of bunnies, cats and dogs.........we think they will show up in the international isle!

the other funny thing that happened yesterday...........i went to buy an enema...yeah i know, too much information.....but it was the only item i bought, and when the girl handed me the bag she smiled and said "have fun"...........................

was wondering how we are supposed to find our "higher purpose" while god made us have to fill our days with mundane acts like............eating, cooking, breathing, peeing, pooping, laundry, washing our bodies, shaving, mothering(that list is too long to itemize), being a sex kittin, toothfairy, santa, defender-of-evil, employee, wife(again a list too long to itemize), sleeping, etc..
they say if you "listen" you will hear the signs of what to do. i think i have so many people talking that i am getting the message confused!

funny thing i heard this week.............i told stacey that what she was doing "wasn't the sacred heart way"............she said "then you misunderstood me"!!

A SATURDAY WITH NO PLANS GETS THINGS DONE!!

well we had nothing "offically" booked for us to do today. I love those days, mostly because they are few and far between! this weekend has been off to a good start. Friday with the kids baseball game.....where they did great, but more importantly we tried a new flavor of spits...chilie lime...i think i speak for us all when i say "YUMMY!"
then it was out to Staceys for a couples get together. i love those, as it is fun and you don't feel guilty for "being out". thanks again stacey! it is also great when my kids are able to be there, and feel like questioning me about "MOONING" and asking if i was "DRUNK"........good times!

today was a day of taking charge..........as you may know i struggle with my house. and there is 3 things about that that drive me nuts! 1. i cannot figure out why or seem to solve the problem. 2. i hate saying "i hate my house". i feel like a spoiled bratt, and i overall try not to be negative. 3. because off all this i am hesitant to invite people over.
so i set out to change that today. i emptied out my living room completely. washed the floor and then just sat there for a while. i rearranged the furnature..........AGAIN! but think i have it in a way that may stay for a while.
i won womans group so that ment i had some play money of my own. plus my sister had given me some gift cards at easter. jason took me in to calgary.........i set out with the intention of getting bed side tables........a hard thing to find and an expensive thing as well. so as i found nothing that i loved.....and if i don't love it i don't buy it! a new rule i am trying to abide by, i started looking at other things. i found 2 lamps, a tin box, a tin picture, and a large sepia picture of a tree!!! things are starting to feel like home............and it is about time as we have lived here for 11 months!!!

am off to finish my night watching a movie with my family. yep! so far so good!

As you can see, An Above Average Admiring fan was giving the letter "A" An Admirable chance to host our day. Due to the Following events, "A" didn't have a Fighting chance. I hope you are Finding the Foreshadowing Fallacious!


"A" only lasted a Fraction under Four seconds, as Twink Forgot about her Fragile neck, stretched, then Froze it, althought it Felt more like a Fracture!


First thing at work we had two Females in For pampering to their Feet. Final touch is always polish. Twink went to grab one, hitting the shelf with her Forearm, sending all the polish Falling to the Floor, Fracturing upon impact sending Fragments of glass all over. Not to mention nail polish Flooding on the Floor, Floorboards, etc. Of course Forbiddon "F" words Found a way into our Foreheads, but we Finnally Found the Funny in the mess. Fortunalty Judy was working and Found remover and Fixed that issue. Fumes were Floating From room to room, Free of charge of course, and not being Fully Filtered by our nasal hairs, we were as stoned as the generation of Free love!


If that wasn't enough to put "A" out of the Forefront, then when my next client Faye arrived For her Featured Facial which Features seaweed to Fortify and Freshen your Face, then Frankly nothing could!


"F" was also showing its Face upstairs where Stacey kept Flubbing up booking Facials! The day seemed like Forever! Box bottoms Falling out, we were all getting so Frustrated that death by Firing squad seemed Favorable!
Just before Four, i was running Forty-Five minutes behind, and still had Four hours to go!
Fiddlesticks!
One thing is Forsure, when you are busy and things are going Foul, the day Flies by, and soon it was time For twinks Four o'clock chiro appointment.
I did make Fifty-Five dollars in tips though- For real....thats Fifty more than the day before!
For dinner i had Fruto Fried chicken and French Fries!
Fatigue started to take over, I headed For home, Flopped on the couch in the Fetal position, and was Foolish enough to hope that my husband's hand was looking for my Foot, but realized quickly he was just Feeling me up!


Of course we are blameing the days events on the Full moon!


All in all though, "F" took a Full Flip and went From Freaking Frustrating to Full out Funny!!

then i Found george this morning.......on the First day i didn't bring my supplies to work with me!
was very Frustrated when i told a client to get undressed, get under the covers, remove bra and all jewelery because i'll be massaging you..........and i come in to see she is on the bed with a Fucking Fuzzy housecoat on!!
Free as our scheduled baseball game was canncelled, so Fortunatly we could go to my sons spring concert that my Friend informed me we had, as school notes sometimes do not Find their way home. Frazzled when no one wanted to go to the concert, Fighting off Fatigue, due to having to get all Five of us to my daughters Fancy academic awards Flapjack breakfast Feast at 7am this morning ,i gave in and skipped the concert.
only made Five dollars in tips today.
I am not Feeling Feminine today, just using their products.....am Feeling extra Fat!
was Ferocious to Find backpacks Flug onto the Floor........if it wasn't due to Forensic evidence Fists would have Flown!
i need more Fiber, my bowels are Full, and instead of a movement i get Flatulence.
i guess i Feel in a Funk today.........but Fortunatly the day ia almost Finished!

ON EVENING OUT

well......this was us tonight! our ladies group took a group pole

dancing class! i really enjoyed it! what a work out! i actually learnt this move....you grab the pole, anchor your breasts, lift your legs and slide to the bottom. it also made me feel like a fireman.........or fantasize about my husband in a fireman uniform!?

a girl at work bought herself some new lipgloss and before agreeing to it, did not check the price......and once the till clerk asked for the amount it seemed to late to reply "on second thought i won't be needing that"........$29.00 for the gloss
she really wanted to apply gloss to her lips for the ride home and her instinct was to NOT use the expensive one...........an instinct that i have shared on more that on occasion. and why?? are we not worth it?? is it because we are women? adults? mothers?...although she is not a mother.
how many times have i bought great face cream, but use the cheap stuff, saving the good stuff.for what?? because i save it so long that it goes bad and i end up throwing it out!
how many of you save your best china or whatever for later, special occasions etc?????
lets start a revolution today! lets start using the "GOOD STUFF".in recent months due to life situations it has become even more important, as later may never come...litteraly!
I have a teenaged daughter at home and at times her selfcentereness drives me crazy! but maybe there is something to be learnt from that.


i have one more thing to rant about! the situation of what to do with left over shampoo........it goes hand in hand with how we treat ourselves.
you know how you always seem to be left with more shampoo than conditioner, or vise versa.......they were part of a matching set and now one is gone so you have to replace it. but then you have a different matching set. do you feel obligated to use up the left over stuff before using the new stuff as a pair....again creating an imbalance? or do you store it in the closet untill it goes bad...and then throw it away???

intro to blogging and random thought one

tanya.....that is "tanya" spelt in the font of "webdings" it makes me laugh!!!

so the purpose of this...........does there really have to be a purpose?......i can list a few
1. my friend Twink wants me to so she doesn't feel alone in the "BLOG" world
2. i love to hear other peoples opinions on things.........but like i tell my husband "just because i ask for your opinion doesn't mean i will use it!"
3. to release the many random thoughts that fill my curious little mind
4.gives me a place to "rant"........and that can happen!!


so for the first random saber thought......................"CATCH WORDS"
it is fitting fot the first post as it has to do with the title............a few teenagers seem to be using the word "RANDOM"..........like saying "you're so random"........."just standing around random"
so we decided to start our own catch word..."SABERTOOTH"
like "that dress is saber" "she is so sabertooth right now" "he is the toothest of all the sabers"
please feel free to use these words...........we want them to go global!



and something that has been on my mind since early last week...............it makes me ask "why?"

a client of mine answered a cell phone call in the middle of our time together. she was recieving a spa treatment form me. she reluctantly told her friend that she "was in the middle of a spa day". when she hung up she explained to me that she didn't want to make her friend feel bad by saying she was enjoying a spa treatment, as her friend was just going through a divorce. i asked her how long they had been married......."20 years.............i guess they have been seperated for 5 years, he already got remarried a couple of years ago, she is going through a hard time"

I DON'T GET IT!!!! WHY SAY SHE WAS JUST GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE WHEN THE DIVORCE ACTUALLY HAPPENED YEARS AGO.....OR ELSE HE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN REMARRIED...........why feel the urge at all to tell me her friend was divorced??................

just needed to get that out. it has been bugging me.........and making me ask "WHY?"
