JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER BLOG AGAIN!

My girlfriend, who both enjoys and is fantastic at taking pictures, has set a challange of takng a picture a day. I, having reicieved a camera for christmas thought i would join in on the challange.
i have no program for editing photo's so here are a few of my "raw" shots.

BECAUSE I HAVE A VA-J-J

just because i have a vagina it is assumed i can cook, clean, give birth, have a set of boobs just waiting to be grabbed by my husband, to be a taxi for the kids, be on the PTA, and am expected, if you believe the media, to look like a 17 year old.

well i have a vagina.....i hate and am horrible at cooking.....this makes my husband a hero because he likes and does the cooking

i have a vagina...........and i clean, have given birth three times, and do have boobs. my face enjoys the kiss and caress 1000 times more than my boobs for anyone who cares! I do feel like a child taxi service most of the time, am an ex PTA member, and will NEVER look like i did when i was 17!

i have a vagina and am able to tile my own backsplash, use a power drill, wet tile cutter, and a miter saw. i can frame walls, put up insulation, and hang drywall! and i can do a great job at it!!

i am frustrated at the simple fact that if one has a penis it is automattically assumed you can do any do-it-yourself project...........and if you do any steriotypical "vagina" work... you are amazing!

a summer over and so is september almost

YEAH YEAH!! time flies.....i must be having fun!

so summer was spent driving. i drove to beaverlodge 9 hours twice this summer. Once to visit my maternal grandparents...once to lay to rest my paternal grandmother.

we also drove down to wasington state to Whidbey Isalnd...about a 2 hour ferry ride from Vancouver.....beautiful. while there we were told we were only 2 hour drive from Forks.....yeah you read that right Twilight fans......check these out!!

now that the kids havwe been in school for a month we are back to schedules, homework and have already added hockey, volleyball, and my dance.

yes! MY dance. i have decided this is the year i am taking both hip hop and jazz....ok for exercise because thats what all adults say.....but the real reason is because i want to dance like Michael Jackson did!!

i also have decided i need more creativity in my life. it is hard to find time for everythig. but we do what we can.

today i painted two old pictures i had laying aroud. i painted them a solid color to prep them to turn into new pictures. we are also trying to finish our basement in our free time......i always seem to have a few projects on the go at all times. although my mind feels full and at times i feel overwhelmed.....i must thrive on this as it is my norm.

the next two days will be full of hockey and then friends.....some needed adult socializing!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

well it was canada day! beautiful weather. and i am not even sure how old we are.

our day was spent in different ways. the boys went swimming, mariah spent time at kinsmen park with a friend taking in the activites, then went to a football game.

canada day shares space with FREE AGENT FRENZY..........an NHL thing. and it lasts ALL DAY!

we have learnt that not very many players are willing to play for the Edmonton oliers team....

i had the unfortunate experience of finding my rental house in a disgusting dissaray.........

but we all ended the night enjoying the FANTASTIC FIREWORKS at kinsmen park last night!

WOW!! it lasted 15 min! it was great!

THINKING RICH

so my latest intrest is the stock market.........i do not pretend to understand how such a virtual world works........i just like it!
i am not formally educated in investmets, but have managed to make a little money in the past few months.
if anyone has any tips, knowledge, or secrets........please feel free to let me know.

JUNE

There is something about june that arrises a mixed bag of feelings in me similar to december. excitement of school ending so the lunch making ends, the crying over homework ends, the backpacks laying around the house ends, the morning broken record of yelling "GET DRESSED GET BREAKFAST, BRUSH YOUR TEETH, PACK YOUR LUNCH, PACK YOUR BINDER, GET YOUR SHOES ON HURRY UP" ENDS!!!!!!!!!!

worried as to what to do for child care as school has ended. how to keep the occupied, interested and safe.

the month of june seems to be one i wish and waste away. lack of giving a shit weather i get homework done or not. wishing for warmer days. hoping my flowers will not get frost bite!

making sure studing is done for finals........and this year mentally preparing myself to teach a 14 year old how to drive.

looking forward to holidays, rest, lazy days...........and realizing i will have 3 kids home that almost always makes this challanging.

june is a month similar to december also when it comes to end of the year stuff. instead of christmas concerts it is spring flings, field trips, operas this year, baseball tournaments, reportcards, relay for life, braces,

all the kids are on countdowns at this time of year, they are as done as we are with the daily never changing routines...........

maybe it is a good thing that june and december are half a year apart.

my original recycle project. a metal square found at the metal recycle pile. it was green already. spray painted a silver swirl pattern on it, added decrative wire and three wishes to be filled out. a funky and free magnet board i made my neice for christmas!

my latest use of recycled treats! Stacey wilson helped with the discovery of this jem! i am going to plant a clamatis for it to climb up the rusted metal door

this is the little baby jack rabbit that i found abanodoned on our front lawn. we loved it for three days, then the little guy went to bunny heaven. our hamster "chubbs" followed a week later. we are left with our gunie pig Jeff.

yet anther project insipred by the metal recycle pile.........from thrown away material i created these beauties into magnets for my friend twink as her birthday gift.

this is me suffering from the hours of crafting fun with an allergic reaction to something...........i think it was from the crazy glue i used. i ended up having to go to the hospital to recieve a shot in the arm, a pill, and had to do the ventilator thing up there! focus on the eye here!

and i am sure that people do play here everyday! to quote a funny friend...."there were people there dobbn' for rent"........serious players!!

ones who didn't like the 'ole girls group with our trolls, SAM's, double dobber trophies, and penguin penises...........they did however enjoy the lucky hat from the luck store..........it's around!

so to summerize......i have a new found respect for the full time dobbers.........there is definitely an art form, skill, and level of concentration that is required........and that i do not posses!

so to summarize......add trying bingo as an adult to the what i have done list! i love that i keep adding to this list.........glad i will not be forming an addiction to bingo!

and on another note...........my first born turned 14 today! 14! so many emotions that i cannot put to words! WOW seems appropriate.

Random thought

I was thinking about this weird thing..................WHY is the First and second largest expensive items we own, being a house and vehicle...........opened and started by one of the smallest things we own...a KEY? weird!

also, noticing while i try and help my second grader with reading and spelling, the words in the english language......or perhaps lack there of.
like..........no and Know.........why couldn't they make up a different word for one, and are they really fooling anyone with the frickin silent "K"??

the word POOL........we swim in it, we play a game of it, we wager money on hockey pools,

you get my point!

we are off to our daughters band concert and at show.......and to our sons family spring dance.

REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE RE-DO RENAME RELOCATE REMINISE REMEMBER

REMEMBER...WHEN I USED TO BLOG JUST ABOUT EVERYDAY? AND REMINISE ABOUT THE DAY THAT JUST PASSED??..... WELL I HOPE TO RENEW THAT COMMITMENT.

A slew of things have happened since my last blog.....FEB????? but of course due to a memory that lacks holding power, i barely remember last week. but last week was a doosey!
two weeks ago my sister had her SUPRISE THIRD baby...a boy named LINDEN JASON. So we went to visit naturally. but he was 5 days old before we got to see him.

during that few days prior to our visit our family watched the movie "BOLT", which has a co-star hamster who talks, does karate moves and runs around in a ball..............know how i believe in the power of attraction??? well my youngest asked every minute of everyday if he could get a hamster................(we have a no pet rule at our house)
until friday at the take it or leave it (check ut twinks and mine recycle challange)...we found a hamster cage with all the tube tunnels! REUSE!!
Not to be out attracted........my husabads co-worker brought another hamster cage to work, as theirs died and where done with the hamster thing. son # 2 decides to get a guienie pig instead. while at the pet store my daughter asked for a bunny, to a firm and quick response of "ABSOLUTELY NOT"!!
Sunday, while doing yard work and raking OUT JUMPED AN ABANDONED BABY JACK RABBIT!!!!
i kid you not!!!
so our no pet rule house has turned into a rodent pet farm.

the other thing i have been obsessed about, and probably a major reason for the lack of blogging, is the stock market.
i have started a small group where instead of buying 649 tickets, we buy stocks....slowly we are getting rich!

and on to our challange......for those of you who also read twinks blog you may have seen some pictures of them
RE-DOING some wood furniture/signs...........i have done a couple projects that involve mental RECOVERED from the metal pile at our recylcling station. i also have found a frame left at the take it or leave it pile, which i REUSED AND RENAMED as a jewlery holder.

well i hope you all feel inspired to find your artsy fartsy side, not to mention your GREEN side! imagination is a wonderful thing..............and i think perhaps....will just throw this idea out there...maybe we should auction off our creations!

the funniest thing i heard yesterday was a comment made about a womans pants that were too tight...." nice camel toes. You know your pants are too tight when you can see the episiodmy scar."

i know...sort of a dry gag reflex...........but extremely funny too!!!

UNUSUALL SITUATION

Hope everyone had a great christmas! we sure did. we went home to Beaverlodge to spend the holidays with family. the weather was VERY cold.....minus 33 plus wind chill on top of that. it turned out to be a blessing though, as it forced us to stay closre to home and catch up on much needed rest.

tomorrow is new years eve and we are looking forward to celebrating with many friends at the ladies hockey team celebration!!!

so what is so unusual????? well my husband got me a notebook (small laptop) for christmas and i have just taken the time to set it up and use it!!!!!!!!!! and believe it or not....this none computer savey, cautious lover of technology, is loving it!!! Plus it has this really cute mouse that he bought me too.........it really IS the SMALL things that get me excited!!
also enjoying my purchase of a pocket message recorder.......it stores 99 messages and up to 12 min....as for anyone who knows me, my memory is terrible! but that is all going to change...as long as i can remember to bring the recorder with me!!! HA AAH AH A

WELL ROUNDED...NOT JUST MY WAIST

Our life as of late has been very full and well rounded with a variety of activities.
things are now strating to end, as is this year.
our daughter is finished with her school volleyball team. they did very well, making it to zones held in three hills last weekend.
her monday night basketball with "jet athletics" ended on monday. what a great organization that deb and pat fule put on. thanks for that.
all three of our children were casted in the play "life with father". after months of rehersal, and 6 wonderful performances, this chapter in our lives now ends too, with the "striking" of the stage today. Thanks to all who made it out to watch. we are very proud of our little actors for the bravery to do this, as well as how well they did at it. it was a huge commitment on their part, and like i said we are very proud of them.
hockey of course will keep us busy right up until the time we leave to go home to visit family and celebrate Christmas. Liams team now has a full roster, as all boys with injuries seem to be healed.

we look forward to two Christmas performances with the school, to our daughters "winter formal"...(which dress shopping went down with great success), and hopefully some seasonal cheer with friends.

i know everyone is busy, and we are as busy as we make ourselves...........

why do they call those donuts long johns? Alec was wondering what a john was- as in long john. If that doesn't make sense why do we call long underwear long johns? Do you know???????????Julia

i have yet to find the true origin of why we call things "JOHN" weather it be long or not. consider all the things we refer to as "John"............
1. long john donuts
2. long john underwear
3. a man soliciting a woman for sex...JOHN
4. the washroom........."going to the john"
5. a dead unknown man......."JOHN"
6. remember a few years ago when the popular shirts had suggestive meanings about the penis...they were called "JOHNSON"

as far as i can tell, because anything i ask google or ask.com to find, comes up Long John Silver...a fictional character from the book "treasure island"........remade many times as a movie..and also a franchise seafood resturant, i think he is the inspiration. I have never read the book...(Oh God! do i try another classic?)......but perhaps the answer lies in there.

so in summary, my opinion is this: the long john is, of course long.........john because we apparently add that to anything we don't have a real name for.
i also found this other blog , and added it..........because if nothing else i find it amusing that other people have wondered the same thing!

My boyfriend and I are debating whether or not a long john (bismark) is a doughnut.
I say it is. It is made from the same type of dough and cooked essentially the same way, it just happens to be served in an oblong shape and not a circular one.
He says a long john is not a doughout because of its oblong shape. He says it should have a seperate classification, the Long John. According to him a doughnut, by definition, is formed in the shape of a circle. He also argues that you order a bavarian cream doughnut or a chocolate doughnut but you would not order a long john doughnut. In other words the word "doughnut" often does not follow the words "long john". He also says that a long john is more of an eclair type pastry. However, at the local grocerie store if you bought a long john and a baverian cream doughnut they would both cost the same price. If you bought an eclair and a bavarian cream doughnut the eclair would cost a dollar some as opposed to 45 cents (the price of a DOUGHNUT).
I feel that his argument has no validity to it because, as we all know, the origanal doughnut was not circular but was formed to make a rope. Also, a doughnut is defined as 'deep-fried piece of dough or batter', it's shape and size are not specified. The fact that doughnuts are commonly circular does not mean the long john is not a doughnut.

Although I can see where you are coming from, I'd have to take your boyfriend's side simply because when someone mentions a 'doughnut' you (that is, 'I') automatically think of the round things because that is generally what it applies to.
Even the term 'doughnut' when applied to a geometric shape refers to a ring or toroid.
The shape IS specified in many definitions, and the ring is certainly the most common:

That link does, however, say that doughnuts (the food) can be other shapes. Maybe you can agree to both be right? ;-)

What on earth are long johns? The only long johns I know about are thermal underwear!!! And I've never heard of Bavarian cream doughnuts either. American doughnuts have a hole in the middle and proper doughnuts don't have a hole and have jam in the middle!!!!

k8 me too. . long johns to me are thermal underwear..i suppose could be use to keep donuts warm..long,. round with or without hole , personal preference i guess.

Hi in the US I used to buy a mixed box of doughnuts with 24 in,, on the side of the box it said,4 iced round doughnut,s 4 cinnamon twist doughnuts,4 round jelly doughnuts, 4 round lemon glaze doughnuts,4 rectangle apple filled doughnuts and 4 longjohn doughnuts.I have recipes for longjohns in a dougnut section of a cookery book,As far as I , my cookery books and the US shops they are doughnuts. OFF TRACK

feeling off track..........
cannot keep up with the house work (what is new?)
one mother+ one father + three kids= two extemely outnumbered parents
loosing focus on my "lifestyle changes".....not working out enough and definatly not watching the food intake......NEED TO GET THAT BACK AS A PRIORITY!!!!!!!

on an upbeat note............i did get the "blow up " santa, penguin, and snowman snow globe up, as well as one string of lights on my veranda and the wreaths and bows up!!!
i have started christmas shopping...........and mailed my nieces birthday gift for her birthday wednesday....
i rearranged the furniture in my house......AGAIN!!!
almost caught up on laundry
actually washed my kitchen and living room floor for the first time in at least 2 weeks (no i am not kidding)
got tickets to the very anticipated movie "TWILIGHT" for friday!
and the best part of my day...........a client let me do highlites in her hair today!!! FUN FUN!!

perhaps i am not completely off track..........just on a slight detour!

IT'S A WONDER......

may things are a wonder to me.
it is a wonder that my husband can live with me. my moods are speratic and polar........especially two days before my period.
it is a wonder that people had to find things to entertain themselves with in the olden days..where would they ever find time to be bored?
it is a wonder how the person discovered coconut...think about it.
it is a wonder that so many things can happen in a day
it is a wonder how lucky i am to have a husband that likes to cook. tonight he isn't here and the kids and i ate cereal......even though the only milk we have a the moment is chocolate.
it is a wonder to me how the phone works........and how you can move to a different house and keep the same phone number
it is a wonder to me the kids who seem to know what they want to do from an early age.

i regularly wonder what the meaning of it all is. i think i try to hard to figure it out. then wonder why.
i wonder what they do with all the amputated limbs and other removed body parts from patients. do they all end up as bio waste or are some kept for "specimens?"can you ask to take yours home? i envision it in a jar. i would put mine on display.
i wonder if getting my skates sharpened will help me to stop better.
i wonder how wrinkles just appear........there seems no gradual process........just suddenly there. i noticed a large crease on my neck today.

DE JA VOUS!

This weekend was full of DE JA VOUS!
first Halloween! it has become a fun tradition to have our friends come in to our home and trick or treat around our neighbourhood. so of course that is what we did. it is a funny thing how tradition of a yearly event came make time seem to fly so fast.

Saturday....hockey of course....DE JA VOUS because i was back in standard like last Saturday, but with a different son.....were we lost...just like the other son did the week before!

Sunday....hockey of course....where Liam fell and hurt himself enough that the ambulance had to get him off the ice...DE JA VOUS why??? just 4 short months age he was strapped to the same backboard and shipped to the same hospital where he had the exact same x-rays, where the same nurses were working.......
he is stiff and sore, unable to put full weight on his leg, but nothing broken!

Sunday.......womans hockey started! DE JA VOUS of good tiomes!!!
